Foley Plans TAD Return in 2012

After a successful stint in the IHRA and NHRA Top Fuel Dragster ranks, Doug Foley is returning to his roots in Top Alcohol Dragster. Foley finished 9th in the world standings in 2003 when he campaigned a blown alcohol dragster under the Foley & Lewis banner with long time friend Tim Lewis. The next chapter in Foley's career will be partnering with world championship tuner Randy Meyer, who recently clinched the 2011 Division 5 championship as a driver. The two plan to run a full schedule in 2012, with the ultimate goal of winning the national championship.

Runner-up in the 2003 Division 1 Alcohol Dragster championship, Doug moved up to Top Fuel in 2004, when he was named Pro Rookie of the Year in IHRA. His ability to defeat top NHRA drivers earned him the nickname, "the Giant Killer". Foley continued to compete in Top Fuel through the beginning of the 2011 season. He drove a Top Alcohol Dragster at the 2011 Auto-Plus Nationals with support from Senecal Construction.

Doug Foley will be driving a car owned a tuned by Randy Meyer, who has filled the role of owner, driver and crew chief in A/Fuel. He then tuned Dan Kracht to the 2009 Division 5 championship. Most recently, Meyer won the 2011 Division 5 championship, the fifth in his career.

The duo will run roughly 12 races in 2012, with a majority of the races being national events. The team will have major support from Senecal Construction, with additional support from Lucas Oil, NGK Spark Plugs, ARP, Hedman Headers, Hussey Copper Gaskets, Aeroquip, Solder Seal Gunk, Goodyear Tire, Meyer Truck Center and Doug Foley's Drag Racing School.

Joey Foley Captures Title this Weekend at Mooresville Dragway

Joey competed in the Jr. Dragster Ranks this weekend at Mooresville Dragway in their race appreciation race. With the car being utilized in some or our Northeast Drag Racing Schools he has not been able to race for the last month or so but had no problem getting right back in the groove. After making some adjustments between time runs, the car started to run pretty consistent. We won first round in the right lane and jumped over to the left lane on a buy run that he got due to having the best reaction time of first round. We were hoping to stay there the rest of the day since we were heading into the evening and the temperature was changing quickly. We were thrown back into the right lane for the final round, which we hadn’t run since the heat of the day, but fortunately for us he stayed on the tree and the half-scale dragster with Craw’s power didn’t move but a couple hundredths all day, taking the win.
